Background

Whenever the WRC circuit comes to Finland, Toyota goes in big. With a huge glass pavillion already on the menu, Toyota needed an attraction to get people to come. As rally simulators and video games have been done over and over again, we wanted people to get a glimpse behind the scenes instead.

The Toyota Virtual Pitstop Experience was born. A VR game where two players at a time have to show their mechanics skills, and do necessary repairs to a banged up virtual Toyota rally car.

My role:

❋ Creative Concept

The idea to get people to jump into the shoes of the unsung heroes of the rally, came from the fact that the cars are actually engineered and tested in Finland. So while the Toyota Gazoo Racing WRC team might have one or two Finnish drivers depending on the year – the team behind the car is mainly local. Besides, who needs another racing simulator.
